Time to celebrate our independence, on STJ! We haven’t seen the house in person since April 5th! We have always wanted to be on island during Carnival. Since July 4th fell on a Sunday the fireworks over Cruz Bay were on Mon July 5th.

Whoa – we have a driveway now, well almost, it is still dirt but now we don’t have to rappel anymore, kewl.

We also have a gigantic CONCRETE retaining wall!

Lots of progress has occurred…

Pool & Gazebo

We fell in love with this mosaic it divides the great room into living and dining areas.

Some stitched together photos give an overview of the great room and the kitchen…

Some cool kitchen details include a carved conch shell on the range hood, and pull out spice drawers and towel racks that flank the range and the sink with hand carved pineapples…

The crew was very sweet and dug some “steps” into the driveway to make it easier for us non – mountain goat types to walk up to the road.

Behold – STEPS!!

The mechanical room is starting to fill up with equipment: water heater, pumps, valves accumulator, UV water filters, and circuit breaker panel all live here. The hot water is heated by solar panels on the roof but electric heating will take over when the sun don’t shine.

One of the outdoor showers off a bedroom.

Bedroom #3 is complete and the pool is waiting for its plaster.
